Legal Counsel

• Offer sound and pragmatic legal guidance to enable informed business decisions across the organization.

• Assist with legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestments, financing, restructuring, and general commercial matters.

• Understand the Groups business priorities and objectives to identify and evaluate potential legal risks.

• Provide general compliance support for corporate transactions and commercial activities.

• Work with team members at all levels, reporting progress to the Director of Legal and relevant business units.

• Instruct and monitor services provided by external law firms, ensuring quality and timeliness.

• Assist in preparing legal budgets and forecasts, and manage external legal spend.

• Contribute to team projects and initiatives across various legal areas as needed.

• Conduct training and briefings on legal topics for Group Management and keep stakeholders updated on relevant legal developments.

• Hong Kong or commonwealth qualified lawyer with a minimum of 7 years PQE, preferably as a commercial or commercial law focused in-house lawyer.

• Solid background in merger and acquisition, divestment, and financing transactions.

• Fluent in spoken and written English, with good command of Chinese and Mandarin as an advantage.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.

• High level of precision while maintaining the ability to understand the bigger picture.

• Well-organized with strong planning and time management capabilities.

• Demonstrates a high sense of accountability for work.

• Good understanding of business principles and practices.

• Able to work proactively with minimal supervision.

• Capable of managing multiple tasks and working under pressure.

• Highly developed influencing and conflict resolution abilities.
