Through Adaptive, we enrich our client service by leveraging a reputable network of external lawyers who are carefully selected, guided, and supported by our team.

As an Adaptive consultant, you will receive comprehensive support from the Simmons & Simmons team, including a sponsoring Partner and a dedicated client team. We encourage regular interaction with your team to foster a collaborative environment. Additionally, you will have access to the firm’s resources and expertise, along with opportunities for professional training and development within the Firm.

Main purpose of the role:

Review and assess existing distribution agreement templates and related legal documentation.
Draft, update, and standardise template agreements to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Conduct a comprehensive review of existing contract review, negotiation, and approval processes.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve legal risk management.
Provide legal advice on distribution arrangements relating to investment funds and asset management products.
Partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Product, Distribution, Operations, and other business stakeholders.
Support stakeholders on contract strategy, legal risk assessment, and implementation of revised templates and processes.
Coordinate with external counsel where required.

Person specification:

Qualified lawyer with approximately 5+ years' PQE (flexible depending on experience).
Strong experience within investment funds, asset management, or wealth management legal teams.
Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on distribution agreements and related fund documentation.
Familiarity with fund distribution frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry market practices.
Proven ability to manage documentation projects and process improvement initiatives.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple workstreams.
