Job Number: 48942 Department: Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau Division/Section/Unit: National Games Coordination Office (Hong Kong) Job Title: Assistant Project Officer Salary: $31,795 per month Entry Requirements: Candidates should have - (a) an accredited Associate Degree from a Hong Kong tertiary institution / a Higher Diploma from a Hong Kong polytechnic / polytechnic university or the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or equivalent; (b) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent; (c) good interpersonal and communication skills with good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); and (d) good command of computer knowledge including MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint and Chinese word processing. Preference will be given to candidates who have relevant working experience in any of the following areas / industries - (i) event organisation and implementation, including major recreational, sports and cultural events (ii) hotel and tourism industry (iii) hospitality and catering industry (iv) security and transportation industry Note: (1) Applicants should mark clearly on their application forms all the degrees they have taken and their past work history. While there are other qualifications under HKQF Level 4, for the purpose of this recruitment exercise, only Associate Degree/ Higher Diploma in the relevant subjects is acceptable. (3) ‘Grade E in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2 respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth. Duties: To handle duties related to the organisation and implementation of the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and the 9th National Special Olympic Games to be held in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The main duties may include - (a) to assist in the organisation and execution of the sports competitions, mass participation events and cross-boundary events of the Games; (b) to execute the arrangement related to accreditation, arrival and departure, security and transportation, accommodation and catering, hospitality and protocol for VIPs and other logistics for the Games; (c) to assist in the organisation and execution of the major events and promotional programmes of the Games, including torch relay, countdown events, community involvement programmes and school programmes, etc.; (d) to assist in monitoring the performance of external service contractors; and (e) to undertake other duties assigned by supervisor. Terms of Appointment: Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms. The contract period will commence on the first report duty date and last up to 31 December 2025. The appointee may be required to work overtime and irregular hours, and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. They may be required to perform outdoor duties as well. Fringe Benefits A gratuity may be granted at the end of the contract period if the contract is satisfactorily completed with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Governments contribution to the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) Scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. In addition to statutory holidays, 14 days paid annual leave (annual leave will be calculated on pro-rata basis for appointment less than 12 months), maternity leave and sickness allowance will be granted to the candidate.
