PLC Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with PLC project team and ensure a smooth handover of PLC works
  • Involve in the PLC development works for the material handling system for the continuous improvement based on client requirement. 
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to make sure a smooth commissioning, testing and operation of PLC in system improvement.
  • Document the faults during the testing & commissioning of the PLC program
  • Interface with LLC and HLC team
  • Troubleshoot for all PLC related faults
  • Recover the system after exchange of key components i.e. PLC processor
  • Support Planned Maintenance in field of PLC programs    
  • Execute the process of program change including, request, test plan, review, approval, submission, program version control, implementation and program roll out on site.
  • Improve the system application by program enhancement
  • Advise and train other maintenance staff  (including client and sub-contractor)
  • Work according to roster schedule; Shift duty is required and shift allowances will be provided 

 Requirements:

  • Higher Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • At least 3-5 years experience with Simatic S7 PLC Programming Software and Profibus I/O Systems. Candidate with less experience will also be considered
  • Experience in the application of Variable speed drive systems and the use of SCADA systems within an industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge in the application of software solutions in Industrial Control Systems, specifically Material Handling System
  • Experience with the understanding of electrical circuit diagrams and E-Plans
  • Registered Electrical Worker or automation controls experience preferable
  • Ability to report, in detail issues, where a test case has failed its requirements
  • Ability to work within a team of both Junior and Senior personnel
  • Strong communication capability in Control System technical aspects
  • Competent in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese
  • Working location: Chek Lap Kok Airport
