Junior Data Scientist

We are looking for a junior data scientist with foundational experience in data related areas to join the Avo Data Analytics Team. This role will support the development and implementation of analytics-driven solutions that inform our business decisions in insurance product design and digital marketing. We seek a smart, dynamic and creative individual who is enthusiastic about making insurance accessible and relatable to everyone!

Heres what youll be doing with us:

·        Develop data pipelines to extract, clean and transform structured and unstructured data for downstream analytics

·        Create and maintain analytical dashboards to support Avos digital insurance business processes

·        Design and conduct advanced analytics to support commercial and digital initiatives using diverse data sources, including business, website traffic and external data

·        Contribute to GenAI/ML initiatives aimed at improving digital marketing and operational efficiency

And heres whom were looking for:

·        Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a relevant field

·        Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a Data Scientist, Data Analyst or Data Engineer role; experience in insurance or financial services is preferred

·        Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL and VBA

·        Experience analysing unstructured data or web data; knowledge of Google analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager is advantageous

·        Familiarity with data reporting and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau and PowerBI

·        Solid understanding of basic statistical concepts and AI/ML techniques with a keen interest in Gen AI technologies

·        Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team

·        Self-motivated and innovative with a drive to learn new technologies and techniques

·        Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese)
