The Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Business Development Executive who will play a key role in marketing and BD activities primarily for the corporate group in Hong Kong. They will work closely with the Business Development Manager, Hong Kong to coordinate and advise on all BD related tasks, including pitches and proposals, client communications, events and roadshows, research, directory submissions, and promoting the firm.
The successful candidate will need to be a strong team player with superb communication skills across all levels, from senior partners to junior members. A degree of commercial acumen and an interest in deepening an understanding about the business areas in which our lawyers primarily operate in is also required. They will also need to be able to prioritise multiple responsibilities and deadlines, working effectively with their immediate and extended teams to deliver high-quality products.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Education: Appropriate undergraduate/postgraduate degree qualification
- Prior experience: At least two years of relevant work experience
- Commercial acumen: Strong appreciation of China business culture and markets; enthusiasm to deepen understanding and contribute to broadening client base
- Pitches and proposals: Prior experience in preparing pitches, proposals, capability statements or new business documents in Simplified Chinese and English would be an advantage, but not essential
- Language: Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese
- Systems: Competency in MS office software and ideally experience in one or more of the following platforms would be an advantage: InterAction, Vuture, Foundation
