SmarTones Legal & Regulatory Affairs Department is committed to identify and communicate risks, to solve problems and to draw actionable insights from our data analytics. Ours lawyers are qualified in different jurisdictions, including Hong Kong, Mainland China and Australia.  Many of our lawyers are bilingual and have worked in leading companies (including Fortune 500) and law firms. The legal work is dynamic, fast-paced and challenging. We seek to hire legal counsels who will be  key members of the growing legal team supporting SmarTones business. The lawyer will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to General Counsel.

Responsibilities:

• Contract Review: Draft, review and negotiate a high volume and wide range of commercial contracts

• Marketing and Product launches: Support any new product launches and marketing campaigns (including the review of marketing-related materials)  

• Process Revamp: Identify opportunities to streamline and standardise operations and processes, champion the implementation and launches, establish or enhance policies and procedures necessary to mitigate legal risks or to comply with applicable laws and regulations (e.g. contract management, disclosure of information)  

• Litigation and Regulatory Affairs: Support the Senior Legal Counsel or General Counsel on regulatory affairs or litigation cases

• Ad hoc work: Support the Legal Counsel or Senior Legal Counsel on an any ad hoc matters

Requirements:

• A lawyer qualified in the PRC or common law jurisdictions (Mainland Chinese talents are welcomed)

• 3+ years of post qualification experience gained in-house (with a career progression to Legal Counsel)

• Experience working with technology or consumer product companies

• A self-motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and collaboration skills

• Logical thinking, growth-minded, challenge-seeking and exceptional interpersonal skills
