Technical Officer II (Power System/East & West Region)
Contract Period: 2-Year
We are looking for high calibre staff to join Construction Branch of our East & West Region. Reporting to the team leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties.
Major Accountabilities:
Conduct or supervise several teams of tradesmen/skill tradesmen including direct staff and contractors to conduct quality inspection on project and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with relevant specifications, procedures and standards
Diagnose simple problems and faults, identify and formulate preventive and corrective actions using a variety of instruments and methods and make recommendations on quality improvement
Monitor performance and progress of assigned work teams to ensure that work plans are completed according to schedule and in compliance with SHEQ standards
Ensure smooth work by coordinating access, schedules, isolation etc. with relevant internal and external parties
Perform site measurements and prepare records
Conduct timely input of data in company IT systems, such as EWMS, EFMS, SPS, AM/FM, DMS, TCOM
Carry out high voltage switching and issue safety documents according to CLP Power Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules
Understand technical drawings for site work implementation
Conduct quality inspections, pre-commissioning checks and commissioning tests
Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. customers) to ensure site activities (including planned outage) meet performance targets
Use mobile devices to perform power systems operation and maintenance activities, e.g. Mobile EWMS, e-instruction, mobile maintenance checklist
Perform emergency call out / repair work, shift work, and/or work under adverse weather condition as and when required
Carry out other duties including participating in safety promotion activities, driving, record updating, report writing, and any other duties assigned by supervisors
Requirements:
Higher Certificate / Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Professional Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 2 years relevant experience, OR Ordinary Certificate / Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Power Engineering or equivalent plus 4 years relevant experience
Authorised Person authorisation up to 11kV
Company Authorized Driver with valid Driving License class 1/1A, 2/2A
Safety Supervisor or equivalent
Good understanding of CLP Power Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules, Safe Systems of Work, relevant statutory requirements, HSSEQ requirements, code of practices, relevant procedures and manual handling standards/techniques
Demonstration of safety awareness, teamwork, and customer orientation
Good understanding of simplified electrical installation / control wiring / plant / substation drawings
Good knowledge of customers installations, protection equipment, alarms and trip indicators
Good knowledge of functionalities of company IT systems, e.g. EWMS, EFMS, SPS, AM/FM, DMS, TCOM
Ability to perform basic functionalities of smart / mobile technology, e.g. Electronic Site Inspection Report (eSir), Mobile EWMS, e-instruction
Ability to use PC applications and functionalities of company IT systems
Good supervisory skill and good problem solving & influencing skills
Ability to handle on-site customers enquiries courteously
Ability to work independently and to communicate technical concepts in English and Chinese (including Mandarin), both verbal and written
Candidate will less qualifications will be considered for lower grade.
