Responsibilities

• Responsible for sourcing and selecting qualified suppliers, analyzing the terms and conditions of vendors, suppliers, and service providers, including their credit terms. Duties include reviewing, negotiating, and signing centralized procurement contracts and agreements, maintaining an up-to-date list of qualified suppliers, and registering new suppliers under the supervision of the Fleet Director
• Continuously monitor vendors, suppliers, service providers for pricing, quality and service levels
• Conduct annual and periodic assessments of vendors, suppliers and service providers, collecting feedback and complaints for review
• Analyze the volume and nature of goods/services required for vessels in the upcoming year, assess market availability, and formulate purchasing strategies to meet business requirements.
• Develop and implement a centralized purchasing system to ensure cost-effective and efficient procurement.
• Follow up with vendors and suppliers for invoices, maintain accurate records, upload invoices to the company system for payment processing, and ensure timely payment.
• Adhere to company manuals and departmental handbooks.
• Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the company.

Requirements

• Diploma, Degree or above in logistic management or any other disciplines
• A minimum of 4 years solid experience in purchasing and tendering supervision in Shipping Industry is a MUST
• Solid experience in implementation of procurement systems and procedures, strategic sourcing and vendor management would be an advantage
• Good organization, communication and people management skills
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Immediately available is highly preferred
