Our client is a well-established 香港 bank with a sizeable technology estate supporting critical business operations. This is a senior people‑manager role within the Information Technology Division, leading the UNIX/Linux, middleware, and database administration function to ensure stable, secure, and efficient BAU operations, resilience, and continuous optimization across core infrastructure platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the UNIX/Linux, Middleware & DBA team
Lead a team of UNIX/Linux, middleware system, and database administrators to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.
Provide technical guidance, set priorities, and ensure delivery of routine operational tasks within agreed timelines.
Contribute to annual budget planning for infrastructure platforms and related services.
Ensure stable, secure, and efficient platform operations
Oversee administration and maintenance of UNIX/Linux, middleware, and database environments across the bank.
Collaborate with other IT teams to support business operations and platform optimization.
Maintain detailed operational records, documentation, and runbooks for audit and compliance purposes.
Database administration and engineering (Oracle RAC / DB2 / MSSQL)
Manage enterprise databases including provisioning, configuration, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance.
Implement and govern database backup and recovery strategies to protect data integrity and ensure continuity.
Support database‑related lifecycle management, including End‑of‑Support (EOS) upgrades and remediation planning.
Oversee UNIX/Linux server provisioning, configuration, patching, and performance optimization.
Ensure platform standards and best practices are applied consistently across environments.
Monitoring, reporting, and capacity planning
Maintain and enhance monitoring integrations (e.g., SNMP messaging) and operational observability.
Produce system performance reporting and analytics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Prepare annual capacity planning reports including utilization trends and growth projections.
Governance, controls, and operational readiness
Conduct System Acceptance Testing (SAT) and support semi‑annual user access / account reviews.
Ensure adherence to audit, compliance, and internal control requirements through strong documentation and evidence collection.
Disaster recovery, resilience, and continuity
Set up and maintain system and database backup 職位 to ensure recoverability.
Prepare, maintain, and validate DR failover procedures and runbooks.
Activate and support DR systems during annual drills and resilience testing.
Incident, problem, change, and vendor management
Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and preventive/corrective actions to improve stability.
Coordinate infrastructure changes related to deployments/upgrades and ensure change governance is followed.
Liaise with vendors for procurement, installation, maintenance, and support of related hardware/software.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
8+ years’ experience as a UNIX/Linux Administrator and/or Database Administrator (or similar role), with proven team leadership exposure.
Strong hands‑on experience with UNIX/Linux administration: AIX, Solaris, Red Hat Linux.
Solid experience in backup/recovery strategy, disaster recovery planning and execution, and supporting DR drills.
Familiar with EOS upgrades / lifecycle management, audit & compliance requirements, SAT, and periodic user access reviews.
Strong capability in producing system performance and capacity planning reports; comfortable working with cross‑functional IT teams.
Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills; proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
Preferred certifications (nice to have)
AIX / Solaris / Red Hat Linux formal training or certifications.
IBM Certified System Administrator / Oracle Certified Professional / Red Hat Certified System Administrator (or equivalent).
