Officer (External Affairs)

The Job

The appointee will be posted to the Publicity and Education Department of the External Affairs Division. Duties will include:

  • Handle procurement and finance matters, collecting and organizing information for projects undertaken by the department;

  • Assist in drafting and formatting of documents and presentation materials;

  • Handle divisional and departmental administration including maintaining the filing system, updating records, and various databases;

  • Provide secretarial support to the department including handling telephone calls and managing appointment schedules;

  • Provide logistic support to the execution of publicity and public education programmes organized;

  • Provide support on newspaper clippings for the division; and

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Person

  • A recognized degree, preferably in Business Administration or equivalent; 

  • At least two years of secretarial or administrative experience, preferably gained from public organizations or sizable corporations;

  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;

  • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;

  • Mature, conscientious, open-minded, flexible and a good team player; and

  • Able to work independently as well as under pressure.

Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration and benefits package including a discretionary performance-linked variable pay, annual leave, medical, dental and life insurance coverage, and MPF will be offered.  All new appointments will be made on a two-year fixed-term contract initially prior to consideration for appointment on a non-fixed-term basis.
