Global Procurement drives strategic and commercial value for the bank by working with colleagues and suppliers to source goods and services. It is also responsible for operating, managing and transforming source-to-pay processes and systems, whilst embedding HSBC's sustainability strategy into its supply chain. Procurement works closely with other parts of HSBC to provide leadership of the bank's third-party and supplier relationships.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Procurement.
Role Purpose
The Head of Procurement (HoP) will be accountable for all Procurement activities by the country team in Hong Kong, influencing and persuading global strategies and translating global strategies to local impact. The role holder will have an understanding of the business requirements and priorities in the market and region, with the responsibility to pro-actively manage and grow the region and country pipeline of savings opportunities and lead the execution of procurement projects.
The Head of Procurement (HoP) will work with BPO provider and central Procurement and is accountable for the running of BPO related tasks in the market. The role holder will be the primary contact and interface point for the BPO provider's Service Delivery Lead in country, providing insight to the BPO provider on how the market operates and to any local challenges or differences. In addition, the role holder will undertake contract signatures and checks, work with BPO Service Delivery Lead to provide demand forecasting and priorities and oversee capacity management to ensure that demand is being effectively managed by BPO provider. The Head of Procurement (HoP) will review SLAs, KPIs and quality of output from BPO provider, provide feedback and work in conjunction with the BPO Service Delivery Lead to remediate any metrics below the required limit. The role holder will also manage stakeholder escalations through to resolution in conjunction with BPO provider.
The Head of Procurement (HoP) will work with stakeholders, category managers and country execution teams to pro-actively develop a pipeline of opportunities and projects, which may be global or local. The projects will be delivered in accordance with the Category and Commodity plans and will leverage the full range of supply and demand-side levers. Deep sourcing knowledge will be applied in the execution of these plans across all category areas whilst ensuring the risks associated with the purchase of goods and services are mitigated commercially, contractually and operationally.
In addition the HoP will have responsibility for all Third-Party Management, Accounts Payables, Procurement Operations and Travel and Events related activity in the market.
The HoP will develop influential senior region and in-country relationships and will lead the business in their approach to maintaining and leveraging value in their operational accountability for supplier relationships. It is expected that post contract value opportunities will be identified and delivered through working with own procurement teams, (business) supplier managers and the supply base. The role holder will have excellent relationship development and management skills to operate effectively with Heads of Procurement and business partner executives at a local and regional level to ensure alignment with respective goals and strategic objectives.
