College Assistant Lecturer in Japanese Language in the College of Humanities and Law
Duties: The appointee will take up leadership role in teaching and assist Programme Leader in programme development and programme management of Japanese language programmes at Certificate, Associate Degree and Diploma levels. The scope of duties includes teaching, programme design and development, day-to-day programme administration, supervision of teaching staff, co-ordination and liaison with students and teachers.
Requirements: Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. A teaching qualification will be a definite advantage. He/She must have native or near-native fluency in Japanese, good communication and interpersonal skills, effective class management skills, and the ability to motivate students.
Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract. Medical and dental benefits, 18 days' annual leave and the use of library facilities will be provided where applicable. The School also provides staff development opportunities.
