Reports To: Group Tax Director, ANZ and Asia
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all tax-related activities in South East Asia, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
Manage and oversee the quarterly and annual tax provision process under both US GAAP and local South East Asia financial reporting standards, using OneSource software.
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and minimize risks.
Coordinate with local tax authorities and external advisors to resolve tax issues and disputes.
Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company.
Provide tax advice and support to various business units and departments.
Conduct tax audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of tax records.
Collaborate with the global tax team to align regional tax strategies with overall corporate objectives.
Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CTA) is preferred.
5-10 years of relevant tax experience in a multinational corporation (MNC).
In-depth knowledge of South East Asia tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in managing tax operations across multiple countries in South East Asia.
Tax effect accounting experience preferably with knowledge of US GAAP standards.
Proven track record of successfully leading and developing a team.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
