JOB PURPOSE

To ensure and maintain company-wide quality standards in all aspects of manufacturing, including raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods. To establish procedures for testing, inspecting, and product introduction.

To understand the quality requirements of the clients and to support the design and development team in creating products following such standards.

Lead the company in the development of a Sustainability strategy and drive the data collection from all our vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING.

Quality Assurance

• Establish and monitor quality standards.

• Support the development team in maintaining the standards across all protos and SMS.

• Train internal, factory staff and outside contractors in the inspection process and quality standards of products flowing into finished goods.

• Support the merchandising team on all matters related to fabrics performance and testing at all stage of development

• Lead the communication with clients on all matters related to sustainability, sourcing transparency and data collection from the factories.

Factory Evaluation

• Review the performance of the factory production.

• Conduct Factory Audit process and annual factory scorecard.

Product Evaluation

• In coordination with Product Development, direct and ensure smooth transition of new products and product changes from design to production, monitoring the initial production runs to ensure integrity of operations lists and quality standards, preparation of New Product Introduction Packages, revisions to operations lists to reflect changes, revisions to bills of materials.

• Advise and assist management procedures with Product Development & Sourcing Manager for components or products failed during testing until performance requirements are met.

• In conjunction with Production Manager manage the critical path of all orders; ensuring a smooth progression from initial sampling through to bulk.

Testing & Compliance

• Formalize and manage all component / product test plans and reporting to ensure performance requirements are met or exceeded.

• Closed loop follow up of non-conformance procedures and supporting documentation, including ensuring all corrective actions are implemented to the highest standard with the expected outcome/s

• Set up system to ensure all components and products meet required specifications at 1st article pre-production sign off.

• Advise and manage ongoing improvement of company-wide QA function.

• Manage restricted substance non-compliance with in-house and external parties to ensure components and products are delivered to requirements.

Sourcing

• Responsible for overseeing all audits and QA specifications for raw materials, Asian sourcing, shipping specifications, finished goods and other applicable QA standards.

• Execute periodic factory audits with existing and new component and finished goods suppliers and provide audit reports to all related departments and senior management.

Reporting

• Provide reporting as required to execute team, including a weekly schedule and corresponding factory visit agendas.

• Provide reporting to management as required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 5 years as a QA Manager for established brand(s) in technical outerwear and fashion garments.

• Strong Technical Skills & Extensive experience in managing and executing QA documentation and procedures to ISO requirements.

• Based in Hong Kong with frequent travel up to 30% of time, mostly between China, Cambodia and Bangladesh.

• Must have excellent written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin

• Proven track record of leadership

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel. Other system experience is a bonus.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Statistical process controls and general statistics.

• Pattern making.

• All sewing operations and machines.

• Production processes required for Outerwear.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Understand both Western business methods and China business and social culture.
