Head of Dispatch

We are currently looking for a high caliber candidate to join our "Transport Team” as “Head of Dispatch".

This position manages the dispatch team, plans yearly budget and delegates the work of dispatch office as the communication centre in Gate Gourmet. All messages and information from outside, mainly from the airlines served by us, are delivered through either telex, fax or phone calls.

This position is responsible for the overall management of dispatch office as the bridge between the customers and GG. He/She oversees and ensures that the information received is relayed to the right department/team.

In this role, you will:

• Assess and plan year-end budget
• Plan and create new staff manual and conduct training to new staff for smooth transitioning and current staff for professional improvement
• Manage and oversee team performance and handle team roster
• Be responsible for making final decision concerning issues related to meal order
• Disseminate the meal order information to relevant parties
• Maintain and update the flight schedule / movement
• Ensure the vehicle register is properly filled and keys are properly kept
• Control and record the movement of the landside vehicles
• Update and maintain the meal order information in worksheet and SCALA
• Conduct meal analysis and loading analysis
• Issue private flight invoice, arrange to deliver and purchase goods during holidays when Sales Office is closed or when Catering supervisor is off
• Manage Return flight handling and requirement / issue report
• Arrange Flower and dry ice order
• Handle contingency situation, e.g. fire/typhoon/car accident/ambulance call etc. and prepare incident reports accordingly
• Update AA manual
• Establish good relationship with customers / handling agents

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Diploma or above
• 5 years of relevant experience is preferred
• Available to work on weekends and public holiday as rest day is not fixed
• Knowledge in MS Office, especially Word and Excel
• Fluent spoken and written Cantonese and English
