GENERAL EDUCATION OFFICE

The General Education Office (GEO) at Hong Kong Baptist University is dedicated to fostering transdisciplinary learning and holistic development among students. Through a diverse range of innovative courses, co-curricular activities, and community engagement initiatives, GEO empowers students to integrate knowledge across disciplines and apply their learning to real-world issues. The office plays a pivotal role in enhancing the academic experience and nurturing graduates equipped to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing society.

GEO is looking for an energetic, self-motivated and detail-oriented candidate with strong management and interpersonal skills to fill the following position:

Executive Officer (25260097)

Responsibilities:

  • Providing comprehensive administrative support for the General Education (GE) Programme, including course offerings, course enrolment, and course revisions;
  • Providing secretarial support to committees and working groups, including preparing agendas, drafting documents, and taking minutes;
  • Assisting supervisors with quality assurance matters, including data compilation, analysis, and report drafting;
  • Coordinating the cross-institutional GE enrolment scheme, and processing applications for unit transfer;
  • Managing administrative processes for course proposal review, awards, and reimbursement claims;
  • Supervising junior colleagues in daily office operations and project execution, including promotional campaigns, publicity events, and networking activities;
  • Serving as the primary liaison with staff, students, other internal and external university offices on GE-related matters; and
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned by supervisors. 

Requirements:

  • A recognised bachelors degree, with at least 4 years of relevant work experience; 
  • Experience in supporting academic programmes and committee work will be a definite advantage;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills;
  • A mature, proactive, and self-motivated approach to work;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); and
  • A strong team player with the ability to multi-task effectively and keen attention to detail.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review and mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
