Director of Development - BESS Infrastructure Fund

Position Overview:Our client, a leading investment fund in the renewable energy sector, seeks a Director of Development with a knack for investments to oversee end-to-end project development-from site identification to construction readiness. This role requires strategic leadership, hands-on execution, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute project strategies aligned with investment goals, assessing market trends, regulations, and technology advancements. *

Lead project management, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met across land acquisition, permitting, environmental compliance, and engineering. *

Manage stakeholder relationships (landowners, regulators, communities) with strong negotiation and communication skills. *

Build and mentor a high-performing development team while fostering cross-functional collaboration. *

Oversee regulatory compliance, permitting, and risk mitigation to minimize delays and costs. *

Identify and resolve risks (environmental, technical, commercial) to ensure project viability.

Requirements:

12+ years in renewable energy/battery storage project development, with a proven track record from inception to construction. *

Bachelors degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field (advanced degree preferred). *

Expertise in utility-scale solar, wind, or BESS development, including permitting, interconnection, and stakeholder engagement. *

Strong leadership experience managing teams and collaborating with regulators, communities, and partners. *

Exceptional project management, problem-solving, and communication skills (English required; Mandarin a plus). * Having Europe and APAC project experience would be an advantage.
