Desktop Support Engineer (5 Days No Shift)

Scope of Responsibilities

The Desktop Support Engineer is tasked with delivering technical assistance and maintenance for desktop systems, laptops, peripherals, and associated software. Core responsibilities include:

  1. Hardware and Software Management: Installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop hardware and software systems.

  2. Problem Resolution: Diagnosing and rectifying issues related to hardware, software, and network functionality.

  3. End-User Support: Offering technical assistance to users both remotely and on-site.

  4. Device Setup: Preparing and configuring new computers and peripherals.

  5. Meeting Setup Assistance: Supporting physical and virtual meeting arrangements, including platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

  6. System Security: Ensuring secure and reliable system operations by deploying and managing antivirus and EDR solutions.

  7. Updates and Backups: Conducting routine system updates, patches, and data backups.

  8. Asset Tracking: Keeping records of hardware and software inventory.

  9. Documentation: Logging support activities and solutions in a ticketing system.

  10. Project Support: Contributing to IT projects as needed.

Ideal applicants should fulfill the following criteria:

Educational Background
  • Possess a Higher Diploma or above in Computer-related disciplines.

Professional Experience
  • At least 2-3 years in desktop support or a similar capacity, preferably within a large-scale organization.

Technical Expertise
  • Proficient in Windows OS platforms.

  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office 365 Suite and other standard software tools.

  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing hardware issues.

  • Competent in managing computer setups and configurations within SCCM and EDR frameworks.

  • Acquainted with networking protocols, such as TCP/IP, and fundamental networking concepts.

  • Experienced in configuring and troubleshooting virtual meeting tools.

  • Knowledgeable about Active Directory and remote desktop utilities.

  • Experienced in utilizing antivirus and endpoint detection/response (EDR) security systems.

Core Competencies
  • Fluent in Cantonese is a must, and capable in Mandarin and English.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Adept at working independently as well as collaboratively.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proactive, customer-focused, and approachable with a service-oriented mindset.

Working Location: Kwai Chung

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 0830 - 1730

1 Year Secondment Contract would be provided to successful applicant.
