Role Overview

We are seeking skilled Data Engineers to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and Power BI. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform raw data into actionable insights, ensuring data quality, accessibility, and performance across the data lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Pipeline Development

    • Design, build, and optimize end-to-end data pipelines using Azure services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database) to ingest, process, and transform structured/unstructured data from diverse sources (APIs, databases, files).

    • Implement batch and real-time data processing workflows, ensuring scalability and reliability for high-volume data.

  2. Databricks Implementation

    • Leverage Databricks for big data processing, using Spark for distributed computing to clean, enrich, and aggregate data.

    • Develop and maintain PySpark/SQL scripts for data transformation, ensuring compatibility with downstream systems.

  3. Data Modeling & Storage

    • Design data models (star/snowflake schemas) and data warehouses using Azure Synapse Analytics or Azure SQL Database to support analytics and reporting needs.

    • Manage data storage solutions (e.g., Azure Data Lake Gen2, Blob Storage) with a focus on cost efficiency, security, and accessibility.

  4. Power BI Reporting

    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modeling (DAX, Power Query) and visualization best practices.

    • Optimize Power BI performance by refining data sources, reducing latency, and ensuring accurate, real-time data refresh.

  5. Data Quality & Governance

    • Implement data validation, cleansing, and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational standards.

    • Document data lineage, metadata, and pipeline workflows for transparency and maintainability.

  6. Collaboration & Optimization

    • Work with data scientists, analysts, and IT teams to align data solutions with business goals.

    • Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines, reducing costs and improving efficiency (e.g., auto-scaling, caching).

Required Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in data engineering, with hands-on expertise in building data pipelines and analytics solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Azure services:

    • Azure Data Factory (ADF) for pipeline orchestration

    • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) Gen2 or Blob Storage for data storage

    • Azure SQL Database or Azure Synapse Analytics for data warehousing

  • Strong experience with Databricks and Apache Spark (PySpark, Spark SQL) for big data processing.

  • Expertise in Power BI: data modeling (DAX, M language), report development, and integration with Azure data sources.

  • Familiarity with SQL and programming languages (Python, Scala) for data manipulation and automation.

  • Understanding of data governance, ETL/ELT principles, and data quality frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, Power BI Data Analyst Associate).

  • Experience with cloud-based ETL tools beyond ADF (e.g., Informatica, Talend).

  • Knowledge of data streaming technologies (Azure Event Hubs, Kafka) and real-time analytics.

  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines for data infrastructure.
