Chief Operating Officer - Programme & Activities

Job Summary:

The Chief Operating Officer - Programme & Activities is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of programs and activities under the Kai Tak Youth Projects. This role focuses on creating impactful and engaging initiatives that foster youth development, community engagement, and social inclusion. The ideal candidate will lead the planning, coordination, and evaluation of diverse programs, manage relationships with stakeholders, and ensure alignment with the projects mission.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Program Design and Development:  

• Design, plan, and implement innovative programs and activities that cater to youth development and community engagement.  

• Ensure programs align with the mission and objectives of the Kai Tak Youth Projects.  

2. Event and Activity Management: 

• Oversee the organization and execution of events, workshops, and activities, ensuring high-quality delivery.  

• Develop detailed work plans and timelines to ensure smooth implementation.  

 3. Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships:  

• Develop and maintain partnerships with schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance program impact.  

• Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify resources and opportunities for new initiatives.  

 4. Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of programs and activities.  

• Conduct regular assessments, gather feedback, and implement improvements based on findings.  

 5. Team Leadership and Coordination: 

• Lead and guide a team of program staff and volunteers to ensure successful execution of activities.  

• Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.  

 6. Budget and Resource Management:

• Prepare and manage budgets for programs and activities.  

• Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources to achieve program objectives.  

 7. Promotion and Outreach:  

• Develop promotional materials and strategies to raise awareness about programs and activities.  

• Leverage social media and other communication channels to engage youth and the community.  

Education Level: 

• Bachelors Degree (or higher).  

 Field of Study:

• Social Work, Education, Youth Development, Event Management, or a related field.  

Area of Experience:

Minimum of 12+ years of experience in program management, youth work, or community engagement, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity.  

Other Professional Qualifications / Technical Skills / Knowledge Required:  

• Strong understanding of youth development and community engagement principles.  

• Proven experience in planning and executing events or programs.  

• Excellent project management and organizational skills.  

• Ability to analyze data and generate reports for program evaluation.  

• Proficiency in using program management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.  

• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.  

 Language Proficiency:

• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
