Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) provide counselling services to students individually and in groups;
(b) handle cases in crisis situations under supervision;
(c) design and conduct developmental programmes and university-wide events / campaigns for the promotion of psychological, physical and spiritual wellness of students;
(d) work and liaise closely with academic faculties / departments in enhancing students holistic development;
(e) conduct training for staff on campus and in student halls on issues concerning students psycho-social well-being and enhance their skills in handling students problems;
(f) coordinate and network with academic staff, family members and external agencies on matters relating to students well-being; and
(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Dean of Students or his/her delegates.
The appointee may be required to work beyond or outside normal office hours.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work or a relevant discipline;
(b) at least five years relevant experience in counselling, preferably in educational setting and/or mental health setting;
(c) the ability to demonstrate good skills in case management, interpersonal relationship and team work;
(d) an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua is highly preferred; and
(e) good servicing attitude.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
