About the Role:

As an Community Experience Associate/Lead, you will act as the “face” of Preface. You will support the Community Excellence team in achieving the following:

Front of House Management:

• Cover the front desk during set business hours and be an on-site point of contact
• Greet students, teachers, parents, guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor
• Ensure all visiting guests are in accordance with our guest policy
• Learn the names of students and guests with the goal of building relationships to facilitate the sense of community Preface is known for
• Anticipate students and nomad teachers needs before they arise to enhance and personalize their experience
• Keep the front desk clean and organized

Events and Customer Engagement:

• Provide event support and evaluation based on attendance, satisfaction, and impact on the performance.
• Distribute all necessary info to promote events and happenings
• Ensure operational requirements are met for each event (elevators, HVAC, etc.).
• Data tracking and evaluation for students and event participants
• Identify and execute opportunities to connect students with each other
• Be active to network and engage with students, parents and nomad teachers
• Know and explain Preface policies and procedures and communicate, inform, and update relevant parties accordingly
• Ensure music levels and activations are appropriate to the occasion.
• Write and send updates via company slack channels

About You: As an ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:

• Curious about technology and passionate about education
• Enjoy building genuine relationships with people
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
• Enjoy developing and managing both internal and external relationships
• Understand and believe in high-quality customer service
• Passionate about community building, hospitality, and creating an inclusive environment
• Actively listens and can handle unpredicted cases calmly and effectively
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proactive problem solver

Required Skills:

• Possesses 2-4 years of relevant experience (startup experience is a plus).
• Experience working at an education institute/ tech industry/ coworking space is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Cantonese
• Skilled to prioritize and execute several simultaneous tasks
