Client Details

They are seeking a strategic and results-driven Assistant Purchasing Director to lead material purchasing and supply chain operations for the manufacturing processes.

Description

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for materials such as plastics, electronics, electromechanical components, and metals to support production goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers, primarily in Asia, to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
• Lead price negotiations and contract agreements to optimize costs while maintaining material quality and supply reliability.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to align material specifications with manufacturing requirements.
• Monitor and manage supply chain risks, including shortages, price fluctuations, and geopolitical factors.
• Implement inventory management practices to balance stock levels and minimize waste.
• Analyze market trends, material innovations, and supplier performance to drive continuous improvement in procurement processes.
• Prepare and present reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supply chain efficiency to senior management.

Profile

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, with a focus on manufacturing materials (plastics, electronics, electromechanical components, metals).
• Proven expertise in price negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material specifications for finished goods production.
• Familiarity with global supply chain dynamics, particularly in Asia, and knowledge of import/export regulations.
• Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and MS Office Suite (Excel for data analysis).
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a strong advantage.
• Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
