Senior Business Development Manager – Logistics Solutions & Services

Our client is a well-established 新西蘭‑owned logistics and freight solutions provider, known for delivering reliable, customer‑centric supply chain services across the Asia‑Pacific region. To support their aggressive growth strategy, they are now seeking a high‑caliber Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead new business acquisition in 香港 and Southern China.

This is a sales hunter role and you will build and leverage your network, market intelligence, and consultative selling skills to identify, pitch, and close new opportunities across air freight, sea freight, and warehousing solutions. You will operate with significant autonomy, backed by a supportive operations team and a performance‑driven culture that rewards initiative and results.

Major Job Duties
  1. New Business Development (Hunter Role)
    • Proactively identify, target, and develop new sales opportunities across 香港 and Southern China (Guangdong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, etc.).
    • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from scratch, focusing on high‑potential B2B clients in manufacturing, trading, e‑commerce, and retail sectors.
    • Conduct cold calls, LinkedIn outreach, industry networking, and strategic partnerships to generate leads.
    • Understand client supply chain challenges and present tailored logistics solutions encompassing air freight (import/export, time‑critical shipments), warehousing & distribution (bonded/non‑bonded, pick & pack, inventory management).
    • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, pricing models, and contract negotiations.
    • Meet or exceed quarterly sales targets (revenue, volume, and margin).
    • Achieve key performance indicators including number of qualified meetings, proposals submitted, and conversion rates.
    • Provide regular sales forecasts, activity reports, and market feedback to management.
  2. Client Visits & Territory Management
    • Conduct regular face‑to‑face client meetings in 香港 and Shenzhen (typically 1–2 times per week in Shenzhen, as needed).
    • Travel to other Southern China cities may be required occasionally.
  3. Customer Growth & Retention
    • While the primary focus is new business, you will also manage and expand relationships with clients you bring on board, ensuring high retention and share‑of‑wallet growth.
    • Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
Key Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or a related industry. Candidates with a strong track record in non‑logistics sales but with a transferable client base may also be considered.
  • Client Base: Must possess an established, verifiable client base in 香港 and/or Southern China. References will be required.
  • Languages: Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese (written and spoken) – essential for negotiating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to sell consultative, solution‑based logistics packages, not just pricing.
  • Self‑motivated, resilient, and comfortable with cold prospecting and rejection.
  • Results‑oriented, with a proven ability to work under pressure and meet aggressive targets.
  • Candidates with less than 3 years of experience or a smaller client base may be considered for a Business Development Manager role with a tailored development plan.
