We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Business Development Manager, Issuer Services - Corporate & Institutional Banking.

In this role you will:

Impact on the Business/Function 

  • Achieve sales revenue targets & increase revenues by generating new business for Issuer Services ("ISV") by way of managing client discussions and delivering the right ISV product solutions as well as collaborating with internal stakeholders including relationship managers and product partners
  • Expand ISV's business relationships and market share through direct negotiation / client calls / client presentation / Client meetings. This involves working closely with internal stakeholders such as Global Banking, Commercial Banking, Global Capital Financing and others. It also involves need to work closely/develop relationships with Intermediaries, Arrangers, Borrowers etc
  • Manage a portfolio of clients against a predetermined set of criteria including target revenues, profitability risk criteria and business and risk filters
  • Customers / Stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain both internal and external referral sources within dedicated portfolio such as:
  • External clients: Corporates, Financial
  • Institutions, Top Tier Investment Banks,
  • Regional and Local Commercial Banks
  • Consultants and Advisors, Law Firms 
  • Internal stakeholders: Global Banking and Markets, Global Capital Financing, Commercial Banking and other internal teams
  • Leadership & Teamwork

  • Directly handle an assigned portfolio of clients and work with ISV colleagues as well as internal stakeholders to further develop the client portfolio and generate new mandates leading to increased Sales Revenues
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with internal stakeholders in deal pitches to win new ISV mandates and ensuring a seamless deal execution while observing the HSBC core values of open, connectivity and integrity
  • Operational Effectiveness & Control:

  • Comply with internal business filters, risk policies and guidelines and diligence measures in respect of deal pitches, deal screening and deal execution including Global Standards, HSBC Core Values and ISV Business Filters amongst others
  • Contribute effectively as a team player to streamline internal process wherever required
  • Follow all procedures as set by Compliance, Legal and FIM
  • To be successful you will need:

  • Solid sales and marketing experience in financial and banking sector; Effective marketer with proven revenue track record in sales in banking sector
  • Prior banking experience in banking sector is a pre-requisite, with added advantage if candidate has prior banking experience in client coverage and relationship management, credit and lending or capital markets/capital financing
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Mandarin and Cantonese is a strong advantage
  • Strong collaborator and team-player who is able to work effectively under various stakeholders
  • Able to work collaboratively in a pressurized environment; Well organized with an ability to priorities tasks effectively
  • Attention to details with willingness to continuously learn and develop professional skills
