Department / Hospital: Prosthetic-Orthotic Department, Queen Elizabeth Hospital
Pay: HK$34,070 to $55,233 per month (HGPS point 13 – 23) including Monthly Allowance
Up to 15% of total basic salary (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) as contract gratuity may be offered to contract staff at the end of each 3 years during the 9-year contract period subject to satisfactory performance.

To be an integral member of the clinical team to ensure the delivery of high quality P&O service to patients.

Accountability, autonomy and responsibility
Maintain professional practice and code of conduct set out by the related local or international professional organization such as : HKSCPO, ISPO.
Knowledge, understanding and skills
a) Demonstrate the clinical skills to deliver comprehensive services.
b) Understand the role and the contributions of all team members and treat them with respect.
c) Demonstrate the underpinning academic knowledge base to support the practice on Prosthetics and Orthotics.
d) Understand the legislation, professional and statutory codes of conduct that affect Prosthetic and Orthotic practice.
e) Have a general understanding of the health care environments.
Clinical Practice
a) Conduct detailed assessment to identify patient’s condition.
b) Construct treatment plan for individual patient.
c) Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment plan and make appropriate adjustments.
d) Document patient’s conditions, treatment processes and outcomes accurately and clearly.
e) Develop in more specialized and advanced areas of practice.
Communication
Communicate with other team members, patients/clients, their relatives and carers to provide professional opinions, education and advice.
Information gathering
a) Gather and evaluate evidence and information from a variety of sources.
b) Understand the research process, including the collection and interpretation of data to improve practice.
Problem solving
Develop alternatives and exercise judgment to effectively solve problems.
Entry Requirements:
A degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics from a local university or equivalent.
One year’s Graduate Prosthetist-Orthotist training in Hospital Authority (HA) or equivalent clinical working experience.
Preferred Attributes / Exposure:
Fluency in written English and Chinese as well as spoken English and Cantonese.
