IT Business Analyst - Trading Systems (ION Platform)

Location: Hong Kong Industry: Financial Services / Trading Technology

Main Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between traders and IT teams to gather and document business requirements for trading systems.
• Analyze existing trading processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and enhancement.
• Collaborate with IT developers and system architects to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
• Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for traders using ION systems, including incident management and resolution.
• Conduct user training and create documentation to facilitate the effective use of trading applications.
• Participate in system testing and validation to ensure that new features and enhancements meet business needs.
• Monitor and report on system performance, user feedback, and market trends to inform future development.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in trading technology, particularly related to ION platforms.

Core Requirements

• Experience with other trading applications and market data feeds.
• Knowledge of financial instruments, trading operations, and risk management principles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Required Skills

• 7+ years in a similar IT business analyst position (BBG / TOMS / ION).
• Experience in change project implementation or business transformation activities: collect and analyze user requirements, write specifications, coordinate with IT development team(s), prepare and execute test plans, organize roll out and follow up with end users.
• Experience in IT application functional support: liaise with Sales, Financial Engineers, Traders, Middle-Office, Operations, and Finance users to understand issues and follow up on their resolution.
• Strong knowledge of ION trading platform and its functionalities.

Additional Requirements

• Degree educated - mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, or finance.
• Expected to take leadership on most topics, suggest and implement sensible solutions to support the business line. Proactivity is key.
• Strong communication skills to work with global teams and various business stakeholders.
• Problem-solving mindset.
• Working knowledge of SQL and basic understanding of VBA and Python.
• Able to work under time pressure and with minimal supervision.
