HKEX – System Development Manager

Applications is responsible for the design, implementation, and application support of HKEX’s market systems, including trading, market data, clearing and settlement, listing systems as well as internal corporate and surveillance systems. Applications comprises several specialized teams with in-depth technology knowhow to support ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, enhancements and the development of next-generation HKEX platforms.

The incumbent will be responsible for IT project implementation and application development on Post-Trade Systems. The candidate should be an experienced IT professional with experience in implementing critical application systems on a Linux platform.

• Responsible for system development and project implementation activities including business requirement analysis, resource management, application development and documentation.
• Design and develop systems with modern technologies, e.g., Cloud.
• Collaborate with teams across IT departments in various aspects.
• Provide production system support.
• Lead and develop a group of software developers in HK and China (e.g., Shenzhen).
• Undertake other assignments and projects as assigned by supervisor.

• Degree in Computer Science, IT or related disciplines.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in software development in large-scale, mission-critical systems.
• Minimum 5 years' experience leading a team of software developers.
• Solid knowledge in Linux, databases, CI/CD and Cloud technologies.
• Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, SQL and shell scripting.
• Experience in OpenAPI and application security (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, API security, etc.) is advantageous.
• Good analytical mind, self-motivated and able to work independently.
