Blasting Engineer Responsibilities
  • Assess the blasting face to be blasted with the shot fouirer and discuss the tunnel geology with the Engineering Geologist.
  • Design the blast in conformance with the excavation profile, the allowable charge weights, the Method Statement and the license / permit conditions.
  • Take full responsibilities and control on the safety and quality of blasting works.
  • Direct the detailed blasting monitoring and any other monitoring as recommended as a result of the condition survey of sensitive receivers, and the production of blast reports including vibration and AOP response spectra.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in carrying out and designing blasting works in civil construction projects.
  • Bachelor's Degree or above.
  • Should have tracked record as being Mines accepted Blasting Engineer for previous project.
  • Requires extensive civil engineering experience, bilingual in Mandarin and Cantonese, capable of effectively managing mainland workers and coordinating with mainland machinery and equipment suppliers.
  • Must have excellent computer skills including AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking capabilities across multiple projects with excellent communication and client relationship building skills.
  • Good command in written & spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
