Contract Assistant Building Security Officer

Main Duties Contract Assistant Building Security Officer is mainly deployed to

• assist in formulating and implementing security measures and operations in the Housing Authority Headquarters (HAHQ) Building and other Housing Authority properties managed by the Housing Department;
• undertake security monitoring duties and respond to emergency situations for HAHQ Building;
• oversee the cleansing and maintenance services of the HAHQ Building;
• liaise with security and cleansing service contractors of HAHQ Building regarding day-to-day operations and deployment;
• assist in formulating training strategies and programmes for the security and cleansing teams in HAHQ Building;
• assist in the administration and logistics of the Building Security Unit; and
• deputise the Building Security Officer during his absence.

(Appointee to the rank may be required to work outside normal office hours to deal with emergencies and special operations.)

Entry Requirements Applicants should -

(a) have completed Secondary 5 education, or equivalent; (b) have at least 5 years supervisory level experience in building management and security operations or related fields, in sizable organisations, or at least 5 years experience at supervisory rank of a disciplinary force in Hong Kong; (c) have Level 2 (“Grade E” before 2007) or above in Chinese Language and English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent; (d) be able to speak fluent Cantonese and English; and (e) possess good analytical, communication and supervisory skills and be able to work independently and under pressure.

Terms of Appointment The appointment will be on Housing Authority regular terms of employment, with continuous employment being offered till an employee reaches the prevailing retirement age upon passing the probationary period. A competitive pay package, which is commensurate with the employees qualification and experience, will be offered. On top of the base salary, the employee may receive a year-end incentive payment at 10% of the total base salary received upon satisfactory completion of every full year of service. An employee who has completed no less than six months of service by the end of the first calendar year of his/ her employment may also receive a year-end incentive payment calculated on a pro-rata basis. The entry pay, terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made.
