The Field Application Specialist is responsible for both Clinical Diagnostics and Life Science product ranges. The primary job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Provide pre- and post-sales technical application support to customers to achieve customer satisfaction and business objectives.
• Conduct product application training courses for customers and for internal teams.
• Manage product evaluation at customer sites to meet business needs.
• Support sales personnel to achieve the team’s targets.

Candidate needs to be independent, self-motivated, enjoy working with people, and able to work under pressure. The role requires regional travel and responsiveness to market application needs. Strong verbal and written communication, excellent interpersonal and customer relation management skills, organization skills, and strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities are essential.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Provide equal emphasis on pre-sales and post-sales application support (50% / 50%).

• Conduct pre-sales product demonstrations and product application training for customers and internal staff.
• Provide post-sales technical support primarily for troubleshooting to achieve customer satisfaction and meet business objectives.
• Develop a systematic troubleshooting approach to diagnose common application problems and share it with the team.
• Manage product evaluations and provide feedback on further evaluation needs at customer sites as part of the sales process to meet business objectives.
• Create training/demo modules (training notes, equipment, consumables & checklists) for reference by other FAS.
• Ensure Bio-Rad’s commitment to customer satisfaction is achieved and continually improved.
• Log field visits in the SFDC system.

Execute the customer technical service (CTS) workflow with key stakeholders.

• Proactively work with the technical team and regional/global support to follow up on technical inquiries and resolve issues timely and effectively.
• Assist with CTS and service teams to support customers and ensure inquiries are addressed satisfactorily.
• Demonstrate teamwork, take initiative, and align internal teams to deliver effective solutions for customer inquiries.
• Collect information and analyze to identify causes and timely implement solutions with the internal team.
• Follow SOPs for prompt communication with customers regarding product notifications or any quality issues within required timeframes (or 24 hours).
• Gather and file customer information for product notifications or technical issues to comply with internal regulatory and customer requirements.

Support workshops, exhibitions, and seminars.

• Present on specific products.
• Prepare materials for workshops/exhibitions and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ensure Bio-Rad’s commitment to customer satisfaction is achieved and improved.

Administration

• Maintain technical application training files.
• Ensure all instruments used for evaluation are properly accounted for.
• Maintain technical information and documentation in an organized, traceable manner.

What You Bring

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• PhD Degree in a sciences-related discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of technical experience in a clinical and life science laboratory setting with strong understanding of laboratory procedures and evolving trends.
• Superior technical and application knowledge of clinical diagnostics and life science methodologies and data management software.
• Experience with managing evaluations and training.
